New park to open in Las Lagunas, Mijas

A new park is currently being laid out and landscaped that will add further to the range of leisure and green space options available near your home in Higuerón West.

 

Aside from the parks, private gardens and sports facilities at Higuerón West and the Reserva de Higuerón Resort, and the nearby beaches, countryside and varied green areas, golf courses and sports clubs, a new green zone is being created on no less than 350 hectares of verdant nature in Las Lagunas, Mijas.

 

Once opened early in 2023, it will become the largest park on the Costa del Sol, indeed within the province of Málaga, offering everything you could wish for in a residential green zone, including 110.000m2 set aside for woods and garden areas – in the style of Higuerón West. More than double the size of La Paloma Park in Benalmádena, the new facility will become a perfect spot for those who wish to be surrounded by greenery, shade and peace, as well as a venue for cultural and sports events.

 

Access will be provided by two roundabout approaches, with car parks offering ample parking space. Inside there are running and cycling paths, lots of space for more casual strolling, as well as picnic areas, playgrounds for children, a climbing wall, outdoor games tables, pétanque zones, a boating lake with bridge and even a skating rink, so the park will be an attractive feature throughout the seasons.

 

Events

 

It will also provide an ideal venue to host a variety of events, including an open-air theatre for dance acts, live music, children’s activities, plays, comedy enactments, acrobatic shows, outdoor dance classes and a range of cultural, arts, sports and other events. Both the landscaping and the architecture of the park will follow a modern interpretation of classic Andalusian styles, so that this very welcome new addition to the Costa del Sol’s amenities blends in perfectly.
